Inaugural post!

Hey, kids!
Check out those cool colors! Burnt and sherbet oranges—so selected because they seem appropriate for desert climes, for which I will be headed a week from today. First stop: a farm in Chimayo, New Mexico, where I will be WWOOFing. That’s World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms, or Willing Workers on Organic Farms, for the uninitiated (apparently both are legit). Then, most likely, it’s on to relocate in Austin, Texas, but who knows? Footloose meet Fancy-Free. Stay tuned! For herein it shall all be documented, as the opportunity presents itself, with the help of my trusty, aura-detecting psychedelic camera (that lovable unreliable narrator and the namesake of Shutter Island) and my cat family, Meep and Spartacus (for whom I am forsaking a career path and the prospect of world travel for the next ten to fifteen years, but that’s another story, folks).
So, welcome aboard this sinking dinghy and remember to take your Dramamine!
